Ideas While I'm Waiting

While I've been recovering from surgery and waiting for it to STOP RAINING, I thought I would share a few of my ideas I have collected that I want to use on my pontoon.

For my seating, I want to make the following for my captain's chair and the two regular chairs that I showed in my first couple posts.

I have found many great ideas on Instructables and Pinterest ect.

For the bar area, I am planning on something similar to the following for the bar itself and the 4 bar stools.

As for the sink area, I am coming up with a nicer version of this foot pump camp sink.

I will work out how I want to do the grill later.

For the loungers/changing room/toilet, I am looking at creating a PVC version of the following.

I like this emergency style toilet to put under one of the loungers and I found this neat toilet paper roll idea to keep it dry.

For many of my PVC ideas, there are TONS of sites out there of people who create things with PVC. The possibilities are endless. One of the Instructables I found that was interesting is below.

Finally, as far as lighting goes, there will be MANY LED lights. The picture below shows an idea for the foot rests for the bar stools.

Even though I am an electrical engineer, I have looked up many valuable boat wiring resources online. You just have to Google it.

Until next time!

Rented My Slip

Since I'm not using my dock until next year, I decided to rent out my slip for the Summer and Fall.

Hey, some extra cash never hurts!

Boat Rails Off and Support Blocks Installed

Well, I finally got my my neighbor to bring his jack over to help me support the boat so we could pull the trailer out.

While I was waiting, I pulled off the rest of the rails.

When he got there, it took us a couple hours to get the boat supported and strapped down.

I ripped off some of the carpet and it looks like I will need to replace the wood.

My goal this Summer is to get the decking off, replace it, put on the new vinyl covering, and get the rails and Bimini top lined up and back on.

This Fall and Winter I will be getting the wiring completed, get the motor running, and build the furniture in my garage workshop so I can install it all next Spring.

I will keep you updated.

Support Boxes for Pontoon Boat

While I was getting ready for neck surgery earlier this month, I decided to do some things that would require some heavy lifting and jacks.

I really needed to get my boat off the trailer and raised up so I could work underneath it.

I built these 2X2 ft. boxes and took them down to the boat until my neighbor could help me with his jack.

In my next post, I will show what they looked like installed under the boat.

Rails Coming Down

I had a little extra time today so I took off the first main rail piece.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

FINALLY GOT TO WORK!!!

Well, after literally MONTHS of being too busy to work on the boat, I finally got to spend an hour or so working on the teardown.

I tore off the entire back end box that housed the old gas tank, oil tank, and trim motor.

I also took off the plate that was holding the throttle on the rail.

Hopefully I get some more time to continue the teardown soon.

New Workstation

I finally got a small amount of time after the holidays to work on the boat stuff.

It has been WAY too cold to work much outside, but I spent some time in my garage organizing my new workstation for the boat furniture/parts.

Here is my new workstation and battery charging station.

After watching the video below, I was able to finally get the console off the boat.

Hopefully I will be able to update more often in the near future.
